Becky Bandeen

I started out as a birth RN when Connie started Canyon Midwifery. In the spring of 2016 I started doing lactation classes and consultations for her. I have always had a passion for natural childbirth in all settings, especially at home.

After having my first home birth in 2013, I wanted to be part of more home births. I feel like our bodies are capable of amazing things!

Our bodies know what to do, and for low-risk women, having their baby at home is comfortable and they are more in control of their birth experience. Having a home birth made me even more passionate about natural birth. I am a registered nurse and I’ve worked in the NICU for 10 years. I became an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant in October 2015. I worked as a postpartum lactation consultant for 2.5 years. I recently started working as a lactation consultant in the NICU. I love combining my passion for NICU babies and lactation! I do a lot of community lactation as well, doing prenatal breastfeeding classes and lactation consultations. I have been at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center my entire career.

 I am married to my wonderful husband, Matt. I have two girls, Emma-5 and Hailey-2. I have two dogs, a yorkie-poo Dash and a boxer-lab Rue. We love to go camping, go to the park, play in the back yard, and have fun! I enjoy baking cakes and painting pottery. I enjoy going to the movies and spending time with family and friends.
